Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Yellow.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 2.
Tears: Nope.
So far so good with the sudden withdrawal of happy pills! As far as they are concerned, Hormonal Hannah feels absolutely no different! The happy place that she had arrived in before she ceased taking them, has stayed with her. Clever Bird read the blurb about withdrawal and it usually hits fast, so Freda Fretter is crossing Baggy's fingers, that she might be okay, but it's still very early days, so she is saying a few quiet prayers.
Not quite so good with the anaemia though. If Baggy gets any more tired she won't be able to function. Yesterday, Clever Bird realised that she was too tired to risk driving Billy Bob Jalopy, so Furry Mama had to be content with taking Pepper Pooch to the old quarry behind their house. Fortunately it's lovely with plenty of space for ball throwing, and a lake for the pooch to swim in.
After a brief walk, and a cup of tea, The Domestic Goddess, assisted by Bit-at-a-time-Betty (who has changed her name , hopefully only temporarily, to Teeny-weeny-bits-at-a-time-Betty), did a bit of housework, while watching a DVDVD. This wiped Baggy out enough to fall asleep for the next four hours!
Baggy still went to bed at 9.00 though. This morning she dragged herself out of bed at 8.30, had a shower and some tea and toast, got Furry Mama to feed the furries, checked stuff on her laptop, and felt so exhausted that she went back to bed at 11.00!! Number one furry woke her at noon, because Grotty Groom really wanted to see her Boy.
In spite of feeling breathless and weak, this was the right decision. Wessles was very happy to see her, and Grotty had work to do:
She had started trying to untangle these knots in the paddock the other day, but failed! Having a beautiful long mane, and living out, just being a horse, rolling in the grass, rubbing on the hedges, having mutual grooming sessions with your brother, and letting your hair blow in the wind, results in tangles, worse than Baggy's, which frankly is saying something! Wessles lets Grotty know that it hurts when she's tearing the knots out, (Clever Bird does wonder how so many horses cope with having their manes 'pulled', to make them short enough to 'plait' for the show ring), by whipping round and 'biting' her with his gentle lips. So Teeny-weeny-bits-at-a-time-Betty helped her out - do a tiny bit of mane - then groom bits, before doing a tiny bit more! Well over an hour later, and with much Mane-and-Tail spray applied, she had succeeded.
By this point, Baggy felt breathless and dizzy so sent number one off to make her a cup of sugary tea. Then Grotty started plaiting.
This finished Baggy's last reserves of strength, so she sat down on the grooming kit box, for a rest.
Baggy started to recover.
But not enough to actually find the muscle strength to stand back up without help. Clever Bird decided that Wessles could help her up. Grotty and Freda were not convinced that this was a very sensible plan, especially as Clever Bird's idea, was to wait till Wes dropped his head to Grotty, then get Baggy to hold his ears, so that he could pull her back up!!
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, probably a few hundred things Baggees, including Baggy getting seriously hurt, but that didn't stop her. Wesley dropped his head, Baggy grabbed one ear and half-grabbed the other; Wes lifted his head.
'I did what you wanted Mum - why are you still on the box?'
'You need to give me time to get hold of your ears properly before you go up.'
'Oh, right-ho.' He dropped his head to Baggy's knees. She got a firm hold on both ears.
'Okay.' Wessles lifted his head, pulling a very weak (but heavy) Baggy up with him!!!
Grotty knows how much Wesley trusts her, but even she was surprised that he would let her do that! He is one very special horse, but then he is Psychic Ploppo's angel.
Meanwhile Pepper waited patiently.
And Joey watched on.
After a few treats, and a chat with the lovely yard manager, Pauline, it was time to head home. Hannah needed a quick trip to the loo before the journey. In case any of you Baggees has ever wondered just how Grotty can keep abandoning her Boys and not worry about them, well that's because they are at a seriously good livery yard!! Not only does Pauline and her little team, look after them like the precious superstars that they are, but the facilities are six-star; you only have to look at the yard loo to know that!!
Now if only The Domestic Goddess could get Baggy's bathroom to a quarter of that standard!
Baggy slept for two hours again when they got home, and now Creative Clara is in charge for a little while, before another early night! She might be totally exhausted at present, but Baggy loves her life........
