Improvements.

Baggy had a half-decent night's sleep for once, getting up only twice, and Hormonal Hannah was in a good mood when she woke. Clever Bird has been doing a lot of thinking, not that there's anything new there. But she's realised that it's important for Baggy to lose some of her excess fat once again. Yes that's partly to do with Grotty Groom wishing to ride her beloved Wessles, but it's much more than that.

Everyone is different. Some people would never leave the house without make-up on (Baggy in her twenties); let a grey hair survive (also Baggy in her twenties, thirties and forties). Others live on lettuce leaves to maintain a pristine slim-line figure. Baggy never had to do that - when she was younger, she could eat absolutely anything and she never put an ounce on. That all changed when she hit thirty, but she could still lose it fairly easily. Her weight fluctuated from under ten-stone to over thirteen (bearing in mind that Baggy is a statuesque 5' 10" tall). She was told by a doctor when she was around 32, that she was obese as she weighed 13 stone 5lbs. Her weight (Clever Bird now realises) generally reflected her state-of-mind. If she was depressed, it shot up. Baggy would get miserable if her weight ever went above 12 stone. When she was in her late thirties it went the other way, and she dropped to 9 stone 5lbs.

Now Clever Bird is well aware that many people are happy carrying some extra weight. What's more lots of people look amazing carrying more 'extra' weight than Baggy is carrying. But there's a reason for that - they are confident in their own skin, and it shines through. Baggy does not possess that confidence, even when she's slim - fact. Yet she's happy never wearing make-up, and with a head of grey hair. But when she's not confident anyway and she looks in the mirror expecting to see a young, attractive, slim Baggy and actually sees an old, okay-looking, but very large Baggy, her self-esteem takes an even greater tumble, and it can feed her anxiety and depression. So for lots of reasons, Baggy is going to attempt to do something about it. (Again). The Domestic Goddess will need to start cooking from scratch, so as a little incentive, Creative Clara has been on a mission to freshen up the kitchen, while The Goddess has been on one to clean it.

But first, Furry Mama took the pooch and Hannah to the beach as usual.

Whilst the pooch slept, Clara painted.

This week she has gone from this:

to this:

Subtle it's not, but Clara loves it.

There's an awful lot still to do, the ceiling, the window, reclaiming the rest of the kitchen from all the repositioned 'stuff', but it distracts Hannah, burns a few extra calories off Baggy, and as long as Furry Mama can stop certain pussy cats from re-colouring themselves Lime Sherbet, all should be fine.

Inspired, this evening The Goddess rustled Baggy up a healthy chicken pilaf and although she says so herself, it was delicious. Pity Cal wasn't here to share it with Baggy, but there'll be a frozen portion for Baggy to enjoy next week. Watch this space Baggees, at this rate The Goddess might actually start to follow in Baggy's beloved sister's footsteps - well she can but try........

Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Yellow.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 3.

Tears: Nope.

Baggy: 223
