When nothing has changed, yet everything has changed.

Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Blue.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 3.
Tears: No.
Pancakes (Yes/No): Apple pie.
Syns (Baggy is allowed 8-15): Comfort food eaten again!
Weight in her terrifying naked state (Stones and pounds): No idea.
Overall day:  😎

Everything changed yesterday, even though nothing had changed from the day before. Clever Bird realises that this is purely about knowledge. The saying "Ignorance is bliss", has a lot to be said for it. Minty Mutt had dementia, Furry Mama just didn't know about it. Baggy had Lawrence-the-durmoid-cyst inside her for probably her whole life, and he wasn't a problem, because she didn't know he was there (well until he started playing up big time anyway). But once you are in possession of a new devastating piece of information, everything seems to change. Your partner's been having an affair for years; you were never even in the running for the promotion you thought was yours; that little mole that has never bothered you, is something really nasty. Nothing has changed - everything has changed. But it can be a good thing. It can make you re-evaluate the things that matter.

Today Furry Mama has had a wake up call. Well, more accurately, another one! Hinge cat has given her a couple. Number one furry gave her one on Friday. Lawrence-the-durmoid-cyst gave her one two years ago. So, let's wake up and smell the roses baggees. Life is really too short. Good times are in short supply and should be enjoyed for all they're worth. Even the not-so-good-times have good moments. They need to be enjoyed. Furry Mama is grateful that she now knows that Minty Mutt has dementia though. She will be more sympathetic with him. Hormonal Hannah has been cross with him a few times recently. When he's ignored her, when he's snapped back at other dogs, when he's pooed in the house. But now she understands, and telling him off is entirely the wrong thing to do! His world is becoming a scary place and Furry Mama's key job is to make it less scary and to keep him active and safe. To that end, today he had extra walks, extra cuddles and extra treats. This evening's walk was lovely. The wind had dropped. The sun was out. The evening light was beautiful. And Furry Mama was getting exercise with her gorgeous dog. Clever Bird is going to make sure that she enjoys every second that she has left with him. If he poos on the stairs, he poos on the stairs. If he feels a bit lost or grumpy, she'll be there for him.

He's been there for her through thick and thin. He's guarded and protected her and kept her company. Now she'll do the same for him. He deserves it. He's one special dog. Yes, everything's changed, but really nothing has changed...............
