Pebbles Rock!!

Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Pale Blue.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 4.
Tears: No.
Pancakes (Yes/No): No longer relevant as having everything else!!

Weight in her terrifying naked state (Stones and pounds): Disaster.

Thanks to March being under snow, yesterday was Creative Clara's first vintage fair of the year. She had spent all week preparing for it, wanting a new look for the new year. She raided Baggy and Calum's house for items to sell, then spent an age checking prices, cleaning things and pricing them, before packing them so they were safe to travel. 5.30am start, which actually didn't seem too bad to Baggy, who is now used to getting up before 7.00 anyway, thanks to Furry Mama being woken by Pepper Pooch and/or The Hinge cat. (Bracket still won't share the bedroom with the pooch).

Setting up was rather stressful for Hormonal Hannah, who got into a total panic, having not done it for four months, and with loads of new things. She sent Cal off with the pooch, so that she didn't snap his head off. By the time she had finished, Baggy ached all over but Clara was quite pleased with how the stall looked. She made three sales to other dealers before she had even finished setting up! Good start. The day pootled on and Baggy and Cal froze, even though it was beautiful outside. The pooch was an angel, as was number one furry, who kept taking the pooch out for walks in the park. Clever Bird noticed that although there were lots of people there, they didn't seem to be buying much. She could hear lots of dealers moaning, but Clara had a steady flow of customers and unlike at previous Brocantes, she was making reasonably big sales, as opposed to a couple of quid at a go. By lunchtime Clever Bird was very happy that she'd had a great day. One lady had been admiring Baggy's gold bangles, but she went off to food shop saying there was no way she could have one. But she came back and to Baggy's delight bought one. Of course Baggy was happy to make the sale, but she was even more happy that the bangle had gone to a really good home, and will never leave the lady's wrist!

By day's end Baggy was so tired she could barely walk, but Clara had had her best fair ever and half way through the morning she also had a last minute booking for the holiday cottage on Thursday! Oh yay! Psychic Ploppo now totally believes what her Tarot cards are telling her - currently to slow down a bit and rest!

Meanwhile, spring is doing its best to sprung - although Clever Bird cannot yet faithfully say that "spring has sprung" - but Gloria Gardener is proud of her efforts and looking forward to getting back out there soon.

Creative Clara's pebble collections are also coming along with Gloria's assistance.

Clara is very fortunate to have so many pebbles on her doorstep! The farmer that Gloria bought her garden back from will probably be pleased with her efforts too! It's clear that the field that backs onto the garden was once a beach. It's not just covered with large chunks of flint, marble and pretty stones, but loads of Mesolithic tools, so Archaeologist Annie also has a field day (excuse the pun Baggees), picking lithics up while Furry Mama walks the pooch.

All the above photos are of the old quarry - also known as the gravel pits! Pebbles galore!

This favourite semi-permanent puddle, of both Minty Mutt and now Pepper Pooch, is on the field that backs onto Gloria's garden - the ex-beach!

Lovely weekend.........

P.S. Baggees, a little reminder of what the garden looked like eighteen months ago, before Gloria got her green fingers on it!
