Time to get on.....

Well Baggees, poor old Britain might be in a political muddle, (okay, yes sorry, Clever Bird realises that that's the understatement of the century), but regardless, 'it' doesn't know that, and nature carries on as usual. Spring has sprung properly in little old Suffolk and Baggy's garden is looking rather lovely. Gloria Gardener is proud of her efforts and at some point she will get Creative Clara to take a few photos; especially of the new bit of land, where Gloria and Calum planted a few new boys yesterday. Baggy knows that their garden is a bit of an acquired taste. It's not pristine, lawns, borders and decking, which is in vogue; it's much more natural, woodland, steep slopes, wild flowers a.k.a. weeds, pebbles and wildlife - Baggy loves it, and it definitely helps Hormonal Hannah's moods. Number one furry has even acquired a little pond for it, so Gloria will be searching for a few pondy-type plants, with the hope of attracting some newts and frogs. Yep, Baggy really loves it - even though she was a teeny-bit thrown when one of her friends saw it for the first time recently, and said, 'It will be lovely once you've cleared it.' Hmmmm. But then only Calum and Baggy really know the jungle that it was when they moved in.

Hormonal Hannah needs the garden at the moment! Her depression is a distant cloud on the horizon thankfully, but the silly anxiety is a constant presence. She's not going to the beach at the moment much either, as Furry Mama is concerned about the pooch. She's now 90% certain that his leg-biting through the skin, is down to his allergies, and getting sand in the wounds is not helpful. So Hannah is not getting her sea-time. But she and the pooch are happy in the garden.

Today, after Clara had sent her latest Realuv parcel off, Pepper pooch had a run around Halesworth park and a swim in every available bit of water, before Baggy took Grotty Groom to see her Boys. It's such a lovely day, that when she arrived, she realised that they were out in their paddocks, enjoying the spring sunshine. Furry Mama left the pooch to sleep in Billy Bob Jalopy campervan, and Grotty grabbed her grooming kit and headed to the paddocks.

Joey particularly appreciated his pampering, although compared with the Boy Wessles, virtually no fur came off him. Grotty did realise that he was enjoying it a little too much and was in danger of preventing Grotty from leaving the paddock! She ended up having to get Baggy to do a Ninja-move, half-way through the railings, while Grotty carried on grooming with her left hand, so that she could get out without being cut off! Clever Bird is well aware that grooming horses loose in their paddocks, is not exactly the recommended way, but she loves it, and both Boys are big softies, Joey just gets a little possessive sometimes.

Wessles was not amused that his mum had groomed Joey first, and made her walk across most of his paddock before he changed his mind and came trotting over to her. He too enjoyed having yet another horse worth of hair taken out, and Hormonal Hannah lived entirely in the moment - getting Baggy covered in hair, enjoying the sunshine, listening to the birds, and gazing on the blue sky.

Grotty decided to leave Wesley's mane down, rather than plaiting it. It's a better fly deterrent, and seems to stay much cleaner than when it's plaited.

Grotty is looking forward to it getting even warmer, so that she can give the lad a bath. She's even thinking that she might start to ride him again soon. Yes, she's a little heavy at the moment, but he'll let her know fairly rapidly if she's too heavy, as she'll be on the deck rather quickly! So first steps, will be getting him down to the indoor school, so that he's spook-free before Grotty sits on him - for the first time in two years!! Watch this space Baggees!

The Boys and Grotty are so lucky to be at this yard! Last week, whilst sitting yacking and drinking tea with the yard manager and groom in the tack room, Grotty glanced up at her saddle, and saw the state of the saddle cloth under Wesley's saddle; it was covered in old sweat and white hair! Freda Fretter was embarrassed, and said, 'Looking at the state of that saddle cloth, you'd think I rode every day.' Today when she walked into the tack room to get her grooming kit, she noticed that Wesley's and Joey's saddle cloths had both been washed and were sitting dry and clean on top of the saddles! How lovely is that? Baggy is a lucky woman......
