Holiday Cottage number two.

Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Grey.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 5.
Tears: No.
Overall day:  😎

For the last two days the cloud has been a-hovering, so Clever Bird has made sure that Baggy hasn't had much time to do nothing. She's slipped into the bad habit of sleeping late again - a sure sign that depression is on the horizon, so instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, Clever Bird is getting  Baggy up. Furry Mama has extended duties with Minty Mutt's current needs. She has also decided that (despite vet's orders to the contrary), she will take Mint for a teeny-weeny walk each day to stop him getting down. He loves it. The cats are enjoying the sunshine and the copious amount of hunting available in the garden. The latest critter that Furry Mama has seen living in it is a glow worm! Number one furry is finally doing as he was told to do weeks ago, and resting properly - surfing t'internet, watching films and relaxing, and he finally seems to have stopped feeling guilty that he can't really do a lot.

So Baggy has been able to get on with things, unhindered, as it were. Clever Bird's latest plan is to turn their new home into a holiday cottage! No, not literally baggees, although if push came to shove, that wouldn't be the daftest idea she's ever had - have this house as a holiday cottage too and rent a little place. But no, what she means is, get their house to the standard that the holiday cottage has now reached - well decorated and totally de-cluttered. A BIG challenge. It was hard enough doing the actual holiday cottage, but their new house needs a ton of TLC. But Hormonal Hannah cannot be allowed to get a hold on Baggy again and having another large project is a very good idea. The whole house needs decorating inside and out. The outside is desperate. It needs doing before the autumn, or the wood will start deteriorating rapidly. As you know if you're a regular baggee, the Domestic Goddess had already made a start on the front of the house. Yesterday she started on the back.

Starting point:

It looks fine in these photos doesn't it? It's really not though. The whole house has been neglected. Baggy's dad would have been horrified - he kept the place looking immaculate. But Clever Bird can't help wondering why it does look so bad when the whole house was professionally painted less than four years ago.

All the woodwork was like this or worse. A slightly overwhelming task for Hormonal Hannah, so Clever Bird has had Bit-at-a-time-Betty encouraging The Goddess. In the last two days she has achieved quite a lot in spite of Baggy being eaten alive by horse flies while The Goddess tried to paint. And as if that wasn't bad enough, today the horse flies were joined by flying ants. But while the furries watched on, and number one supplied copious amounts of tea and food to Baggy,

The Goddess has managed all this:

Furry Mama and Creative Clara got a bit carried away when Clever Bird realised that the featheries' table was looking a bit worn out.

Then Gloria Gardener had The Goddess finish off the trellising that's been half-done for months.

In case you're wondering baggees, the middle bit is now orange. Who needs creams and greys? Not Baggy - she loves colour!

Tomorrow The Goddess is hoping to get up a ladder to finish off the front of the house, weather and confidence permitting. The upstairs of the back of the house will however be a massive challenge, as it's much higher than the front, and that's scary enough!

Meanwhile Minty Mutt's paw is healing amazingly well and as he's being a good lad and not licking it, so Furry Mama has let him have the collar-of shame off for most of the day.

All things considered - grey cloud or not - the gang are doing rather well, although Creative Clara says so herself...........
