Threatening.

Note to readers (my lovely Baggetts): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Black.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 6.
Tears: No, but close.
Overall day(s): Chilly.

Well Hormonal Hannah's cloud caught Baggy up today. She woke with that tight, sick feeling in her chest and a feeling of impending doom. But Freda Fretter didn't want her to spoil Calum's weekend, so she tried to put a brave face on. But that's not easy baggetts when it feels as if the whole world's out to get you. Anyway, cheery smile on her face they headed into town to pop to the local tack shop to see whether Grotty Groom could get a cheap second-hand lightweight stable rug for Wesley. But there was a Christmas Food Fair on and every car park was packed. They finally tried a little one that they found last week. They pulled in through the very narrow entrance, in the very large, "Dodgy" Ram pick-up truck. A car was coming out. It stopped. Right in the way. It refused to reverse. Calum would have had to reverse back through the bollarded narrow entrance, onto a mini-roundabout on the road. They waited. The passenger got out and stomped over to Calum. Calum wound his window down. Clever Bird thought that at this point the not very large, elderly man would back off, but no, rather aggressively he told Calum, in a very upper class accent, to "Get out of the way!"
"No, you just need to reverse ten feet".
"I'm not driving, my wife is, now get out of our way!!"
"I am not reversing onto a main road, it's illegal and dangerous."
"This is ridiculous".
"I quite agree".
"I'm going to call the police!"
"Good idea. Go ahead," said Calum.

The man proceeded to start taking photos of Cal's number plate, then stomped back to his car, muttering. They didn't move. Cal waited. And waited. Then decided to drive forwards and squeeze through the narrow gap they'd left. They still didn't reverse. Unfortunately, the very wide Dodgy's bumper, clipped their bumper as he passed it. The man got out and started to follow Dodgy as Cal tried to turn him round in the packed car park. As Cal pulled forward the man was videoing Baggy, Cal and Dodgy-truck. Cal got out and asked the man for his insurance details. But as soon as Cal started to open the door the man had started walking away. Cal followed and said that they needed to swap insurance details. The man spoke to his wife as he approached their car, then got in it. Clever Bird assumed that he was going in the glove box to get his insurance policy. Cal was still about ten feet behind him. Then, a by now, extremely stressed and anxious Hannah, thought she was seeing things, when the car just drove off! Calum wandered back to Dodgy. "Urmmm, did you get their number plate?"
"No", said Cal running back towards the exit to try and see it.
"Get it?"
"No. They'd gone".
"Well I think we need to report the incident to the police," said Freda Fretter. "They've got all your details, including photos of us and I've got a bad feeling about it".

Neither Baggy or Calum had their phones with them. They drove to the town police station - which no longer sees the public! Used the "yellow phone" to speak to the police. Got told to fill in the form on their website. They left, to head to the yard. Hannah was now sick and shaky with anxiety. Calum was dangerously quiet. "Are you okay?" asked Furry Mama.
"Yes. I can't believe how stupid that was".
"Yes. Actually, it upset me. That bloke was surprisingly threatening," said Baggy, "but I'm more worried that they're going to say that you threatened them".
Large, young-ish Suffolk hairy biker versus, small, posh elderly flat-capped and tweeded country gentleman - call Baggy paranoid baggetts, but unfortunately stereotypes still prevail in England. It was also clear to Furry Mama that Calum was rather more annoyed with the whole episode than he was letting on. Baggy tried to stay light and fluffy in her conversation as they drove the rest of the way to the yard.

The Boys were very pleased to see them. Wesley, in all his magnificent hairiness immediately came to Grotty for a cuddle. Pepper assumed he was having a ball chasing session, so wouldn't settle though, so Furry Mama decided to do that first. It's so cold that the outdoor school was an ice rink! The sand had frozen solid. Pepper had a lovely skating session! As usual Hannah felt better once Grotty had spent a while grooming her Boy. He certainly appreciated it too. Calum tried a new (second-hand) rug on Joey. It was a perfect fit! He also enjoyed his groom. They went back into town to pay for the rug and actually managed to park! They picked a rug for Wesley to try. Then took the pooch for a romp round the park. Hannah was almost feeling okay by the time they got home. Clever Bird found the correct Police form to complete and filled it all out for Calum. Hannah got more and more anxious (and annoyed), as she was writing it. When did the world get so angsty? The whole trend of current advertising seems to sum it up for Clever Bird: be smug; be better than the Jones's; anything you can do I can do better; I'm entitled. It's confrontational and judgemental and plays to stereotypes. Probably why Baggy was so shocked that a posh old chap could be so angry and scary when he was entirely in the wrong............
