Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Yellow.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 4.
Tears: Nope.
Pancakes (Yes/No): Popcorn, vanilla slice, crème egg!
Weight in her terrifying naked state (Stones and pounds): What does she expect?
Overall days: Hard work.
Take for example, Hinge and Bracket, unless it's all about them, they have nothing to say. 'Feed us' - purr. 'Stroke us - purr.' 'Let us out' - purr. 'Let us in' - purr. 'Let us back out' - purr.
'I'm feeling a bit down Bracket, can I have a cuddle please?'
'No! I'm busy.'
'Hinge - cuddle?'
'Not at the moment, I need to clean myself, while lying on my back with my legs in the air.'
Frankly, Minty Mutt was a little like that too. Furry Mama adored him and misses him terribly, but from two weeks old, he did his own thing. He would rather be with any other dog than with Baggy. He'd only come back to her when called, once he'd scanned the area to check whether there was something more interesting for him to do. He guarded her and he clearly did love her, but most things were about him.
Wesley is not like that. He worries about Grotty Groom and (despite how some people may view it), he always looks after her. If she is down, he will literally cuddle her. When she rides him, if Baggy is feeling weak or in pain, he knows and adjusts. When Grotty is feeling confident, he'll push her out of her comfort zone! He'll always come to her, in the paddock, in the school, in his stable. And he always forgives her and is just happy to have her back, when stupid Hormonal Hannah is keeping her away from him. He is Baggy's angel. But of course he is a horse, so he doesn't live in the house with Baggy.
Number one furry is the exact opposite of 'me, me me'. He and Baggy have weird and wonderful conversations about all kinds of things, but he is not with Baggy more than he is with her, thanks to his job. So Baggy, and particularly Hannah, get lonely without some positive conversation and interaction. Enter Pepper Pooch! The boy is a charm. He is loving and cuddly and will do anything for Furry Mama and Calum. If Baggy is down, or crying, he literally comes and gives her a cuddle. He'll wrap his paws around Furry Mama's arm, or lay his head in Baggy or Calum's lap. Of course he has Furry Mama wrapped around those little paws, and is totally ball obsessed, but he'd rather be with Baggy or Calum than anyone else in the world.
When Hannah is anxious or really in despair, he somehow not only seems to know, but he generally does something to make her laugh. He is definitely, like Cal and Wessles, a 'give, give, give' person. And that is wonderful. It takes all sorts as Clever Bird says, but people who are a bit of both 'me and give' are Baggy's favourites!
Take number one. He works for fifteen hours on most days, but is still happy to work to help Baggy at the weekend. Gloria Gardener has been on such a massive mission this week that you could barely see the top of the garden for the waste. Yesterday they spent all day doing more cutting and lots of burning! It was like this exactly one year ago; and today it is like this:
