Life is a ball.

Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.

Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Yellow.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 2.
Tears: No.
Overall day(s): Busy.

Yesterday Baggy drove Pepper and The Domestic Goddess to the holiday cottage for the first time in weeks. Of course last time she went, five weeks ago, Billy Bob campervan broke down and Minty got so stressed that it made him ill. It was therefore a hard journey for Hormonal Hannah and Furry Mama, as all the memories of that day with lovely Minty Mutt came back. But at least Billy Bob didn't break down and Pepper Pooch was fast asleep on the back shelf. Hormonal Hannah had forgotten just how gorgeous the holiday cottage is! No wonder people are loving it so much. Clever Bird realises that this is due in large part to the wonderful caretaker, who keeps the place pristine. But who also does extra things like putting lots of lovely new autumn flowering plants in the pots, so that the front garden looks welcoming! The Goddess is very lucky to have her. And her great neighbours on the other side. The Goddess took a replacement grill for the bottom of the open fire with her, with no idea how to fit it - so her neighbour did it for her. Very lucky.

She replaced the rug that had been ruined by a doggy guest and took new welcome cards for the next guests. She and Pepper pretended they were on holiday for a minute. Then Furry Mama took him for a walk.

Clever Bird decided that they should go on Minty Mutt's favourite walk, across the water meadows. As Baggy sunk eight-inches into thick, smelly, water meadow mud and water, and Pepper disappeared up to his chest in it, she realised the error of Clever Bird's plan - they headed back to the immaculate cottage. Sigh! Baggy took her boots off, and asked Pepper to wait in the garden. She padded into the cottage to get Billy Bob's keys. Pepper panicked that he was being left, flew into the cottage, flexi-lead and mud following him, the hard, heavy plastic handle of the lead whacked Baggy on the ankle. Baggy swore. Pepper shot into the kitchen. Furry Mama retrieved him and put him in Billy Bob. Fortunately, the cottage didn't suffer. The Goddess went and bought more logs for the fire ready for the next guests before driving home again.

Last night was Pepper training. The fifth of eight sessions. Pepper was a superstar. The hardest test was a line of toys and bowls of food that Furry Mama had to walk Pepper past, without him touching any of it! On the third go, he didn't even try! He can now also roll-over and present a paw. Furry Mama is working on a bow. The lad is a doggy-genius even though Furry Mama says so herself. So today she decided that he needed a treat, they went to their favourite beach, Southwold. But first she had to take Hinge cat back for her post-operation check up. She is as good as new again, although sadly the chances are that she will go through this problem for the rest of her life. It was sad to see Furry Mama's vet for the last time, but she did make Baggy laugh when she said to "Say hi to Barrel". Clever Bird had a think for a second and realised that she meant Bracket. A quick explanation as to what a hinge, a bracket and a barrel are, then who Hinge and Bracket were, had the lovely Slovenian giggling. Furry Mama decided that barrel would have been a good name for Hinge - she is after all the shape of one!

Pepper had a ball at Southwold - 'scuse the pun baggetts - chasing after his ball, waves and new friends. Baggy just wishes that she had a hundredth of his energy.

The sea was interesting today, the way it's moved the sand and pebbles caused a line of "puddles", which Pepper loved. The ball nearly got lost in it, but Baggy saved it - just - more than once. Freda Fretter just hopes that no one was videoing her antics. They both deserved a bit of sea and fresh air though, as tomorrow they will be up at the crack of dawn for Creative Clara to go to her next Halesworth Brocante.........
