It's been a funny old week one way and another Baggees. A week of two halves, you might say. It started well. After the work on the house was finished and the guys left last Friday, number one furry arrived home shortly afterwards. On Saturday morning, Baggy's sister arrived to stay for a few days. So, on Monday, when Calum went off to work for the week, Baggy had Debby for company.
They had a wonderful few days, walking, eating, putting the world to rights, and generally having fun. They had lovely walks with Pepper Pooch and Pickle Dog around Southwold and Dunwich Heath. And a fish-and-chips lunch, with an amazing view over the marshlands towards Southwold.
Debby and Pickle headed home on Wednesday morning, and Furry Mama took Pepper over to Southwold once more. When they got home, the house seemed terribly empty and it took Clever Bird a while to realise that it was the first time that they'd been alone at home, for three weeks. It hit Hormonal Hannah hard, and inevitably by Thursday a very large black cloud was hanging around, and Baggy struggled to get out of bed. But the pooch had other ideas and he was right, because a trip to the beach, in the torrential rain, helped Hannah no end.
It's hard though to be honest! Hannah has had to face a few home truths. Clever Bird has always thought of Baggy as a bit of a loner; happy with her own company - and that is true. However, that's when it's her own choice! Since the move to their current home, Baggy has spent considerably more time on her own than ever before, and she's beginning to realise that that's not good for Hannah!
It's all Lawrence-the-durmoid-cyst's fault really! Before he made his presence felt, Grotty Groom kept Baggy (and Hannah) busy. Every day, she spent at least four hours looking after Wesley and Joey. If she rode, which she generally did, then that could be five or six hours of her day. And of course, it also meant that she had lots of company from her horsey friends, who were all doing the same thing. When she got ill, and Baggy had Lawrence and the rest of her female-insides removed, she was no longer able to look after the horses herself. Even once she had recovered from the major surgery, she found that Baggy no longer had the strength or energy to look after the Boys, so they stayed on full livery. Since then, Baggy seems to have had one illness after another and has never really got Grotty's mojo back, resulting in the current ridiculous state of affairs!
Ridiculous, because Baggy is lonely, and Grotty misses her horses! So, even though Hormonal Hannah's illogical anxiety, prevents Grotty from resolving this situation, Clever Bird is going to attempt to overrule her!
Tomorrow, the alarm will be set to get Furry Mama on the beach with the pooch before eight. Plan: wear Pepper out enough so that he will happily sleep in Billy Bob Jalopy campervan, while Grotty spends some time with her Boys. It's a little complicated tomorrow, as Baggy has an appointment with the doctor at 10.20 to try to get to the bottom of her current state of constant tiredness/racing heart/breathlessness/aching muscles and headaches, but she plans to go from that appointment to the yard.
And yes Baggees, Clever Bird has made these kinds of plans before, and Hannah has prevented her from completing them, but part of that is guilt. Guilt that Grotty is not working her horses; guilt that there's so much to sort out at the house; guilt that she doesn't earn money; guilt about feeling guilty - you get the jist? But if she can manage to get Hormonal Hannah out of bed early enough each day, the rest of the gang can get on with those other things.
Well, that's the plan, now let's see whether this time Grotty can actually manage it...
