Note to readers (my lovely Baggees): For the avoidance of any doubt - every character in this blog is me!!! No Baggy was harmed in its writing.
Baggy's daily state!

Overall day: 😎
Waking up to yesterday's news knocked Baggy for six. Clever Bird does not begin to understand what has happened to this beautiful world that we all live in. It made Freda Fretter worry about posting Creative Clara's self-indulgent blog on such a sad day, but the fact of the matter is that every day is a sad day somewhere in the world. There are wars, starvation, acts of terror and atrocity, bigotry, violence and general misery happening every second somewhere in the world. There are personal struggles too, illness, bereavement, divorce, job loss, mental health problems, money problems and so on. Life can be tough, even tragic. Everything is relative and someone's "small" problem can be someone else's huge one. At times, to Baggy, her problems have seemed enormous (and they were to her and especially to Hormonal Hannah), but to others with bigger issues, they probably seem trivial. But the problem that is going on all over the world at the moment is HUGE. It affects everybody in one way or another, even if it is merely trying to understand it. It's not possible to be an ostrich and simply ignore what is happening, because it can't be ignored, it's too awful. But equally there are wonderful things happening every second all over the world too. And Clever Bird feels that it's important that we remember that, engagements, weddings, births, acts of kindness, celebrations, healing, volunteering, rescues etc. Tiny, wonderful things too, a baby bird flying for the first time, a baby saying her first word, a husband telling his wife he adores her, a rose blooming, a rainbow lighting up the sky, a rescue animal finding a loving home. Millions of wonderful things are happening all the time. And Baggy thinks it's important that we all try to see the wonderful things, while recognising that there are some really big tragedies happening in the world currently.
As Clara says, everything is relative, and yesterday was a case in point for Furry Mama. As baggees know, Furry Mama loves all her furries. Hinge and Bracket are just adorable.
BUT they are cats and they do what cats do - they hunt. Furry Mama now also has so many featheries that she looks after in Gloria Gardener's garden, that this is rather an issue. Two days ago there was a dead mouse on the patio and a dead baby blue tit in the hall. Yesterday The Domestic Goddess walked into the kitchen and Baggy nearly tripped over the Hinge cat (kaka the not-quite-as-low-slung-as-she-was-before-one), who was batting a baby blue tit about the floor. Furry Mama grabbed it and put it on the bird table. Then she noticed that Bracket was looking at something on the patio. Baggy grabbed a second baby and put that one on the bird table too. Baby number one was breathing heavily and not looking great, baby number two didn't look quite as bad.
The Domestic Goddess had to pop into town. When she got back she checked the bird table. Furry Mama could only see one baby. Then Clever Bird noticed that the other one had fallen to the ground. This wouldn't do. Furry Mama decided to dig out Derek the dove's cage and make a safe place for the babies that the cats couldn't get in, but the babies' mother could.
Freda Fretter started to worry about them, but Clever Bird pointed out that Furry Mama had done her best, the rest would be up to luck and the babies, and hopefully their Mum. Freda checked them a couple of hours later. Baby number one was asleep - permanently. Furry Mama was upset, but took him out of the box, said a little prayer and put him near Derek's grave. She also said a little prayer for number two baby. Another couple of hours later she went and checked on him. He wasn't there! Neither was there any sign of feathers or a struggle, so Furry Mama decided that the baby's Mum must have found him and taken him back to his nest.
It's the way of the world. Cats kill for no apparent reason, they're certainly not doing it for food. They might be doing it as a sign of "love" to Furry Mama. But probably they are doing it because that's what they've been taught to do. It's "cruel" and unnecessary, but they don't see it like that at all. But that's what they do and yesterday there was tragedy when a baby blue tit died, but there was also something a bit wonderful when a baby blue tit survived, hopefully to grow up and teach its own babies to stay away from cats. Hormonal Hannah had two ways to go over this one, get extremely upset that baby one had died, or be happy that baby two had survived. She decided to be happy.........
