Baggy is seriously struggling Baggees. Everything is squashing her from a great height, or at least that's how it feels at the moment. One thing after another seems to be going pear-shaped. Baggy has to figure out a sensible way of earning some pennies, so sensible or not - Clever Bird thinks probably not, but if you don't try.... so Creative Clara has started editing and typing up her novel. It's taken two days but she has finally finished chapter one. Bit-at-a-time-Betty is encouraging her to get the first four chapters finished, ready to send to literary agents. Freda Fretter is worried how Hormonal Hannah will handle the inevitable rejections, but Clever Bird wants her to give it a go.
Meanwhile Furry Mama is worried sick about the pooch. She thought that although he scratches and licks himself a lot, that that's all the problem was. Yes, it's not very pleasant for him, but that was all. But no, apparently not. She has every right to worry. Because he has so many allergies, which if not dealt with will get progressively worse as he gets older, they are life threatening. And apparently even the scratching is likely to lead to infections and potentially blood poisoning if he breaks his skin. He's already getting bald patches where he's scratched his fur off. This evening he's been chewing his paws. The poor little pooch. Clever Bird is now even more sure that having all these allergies is why he was given up.
There doesn't appear to be a food he can eat that doesn't include something he's allergic to. Clever Bird has now been told that he can't even have the things he's not allergic to until they ascertain just how poorly he's likely to get. He has to eat absolutely nothing except a kibble made from of all things, feathers! How this is supposed to work is beyond Clever Bird, bearing in mind that Pepper is allergic to all poultry! He's also allergic to maize and maize oil is one of the ingredients in it. But he's had his first portion tonight and he wolfed it down, so Furry Mama is hoping that it's so tasty that he won't get bored of it. Hopefully, after a few days of it Furry Mama will see Pepper improving and being less agitated. But Freda is concerned that tonight he's been scratching more than ever, and even more worryingly he's been chewing his paws. She'll see what tomorrow brings, then decide whether he needs to go back to the vet yet again.........
