Baggy's daily state!
Depression (Black = really bad/Grey = not great/Blue = okay/Yellow = sunny day): Yellow.
Anxiety (From 1 = barely any to 10 = gibbering wreck standard): 2.
Tears: Happy ones.
Overall day: Great.
It's weird how things happen. Things that are all wrong, turn out to be all right.
Take when Wesley appeared literally a few weeks after Baggy's Mum died unexpectedly. And she was about to lose her job. And the relationship she was in, was a total nightmare. Baggy's anxiety levels were off the scale and yes (with hindsight) she was seriously depressed, as well as mourning her Mama. She had always wanted a horse - a large, nine or ten year-old thoroughbred cross, who was calm and already well schooled. Then was so not the time to get one. Especially Wesley! A totally unschooled, small, three-year old, coloured cob who was extremely sharp and far from calm! Thirteen years on he is still Grotty Groom's angel!
Take when Minty Mutt came into Baggy's life, she was in a bad place at the time. (So what's new?) Out of work, and not likely to get any. Struggling with depression (not that she recognised that at the time). With a badly injured foot, so unable to look after Wesley (he injured her foot, whacking it on the gate when Grotty Groom was riding him). Certainly not looking for a dog! Although Baggy had always wanted a dog, she always thought she would have one of those cute fluffy jobs. You know the ones that every one wants to cuddle; that you can dress up in little outfits; that you can easily pick up and carry in a bag! Not a nearly ten-stone pedigree German Shepherd!
Take when Calum and Baggy bought their first house together, they had a list of "musts and must nots".
- Must be within ten minutes drive of Wesley's yard (There was no Joey at the time).
- Must have a garage for the bikes.
- Must not be thatched.
- Must not terraced.
- Must not be listed.
- Must have a decent sized kitchen.
- Needs to be quite big for all their stuff.
They had seven very happy years living there and now it's making other people happy, and paying some of their bills, as a very popular holiday cottage!
Take when Baggy inherited her Dad's house. No way was she going to live there. No way could she cope with even being there. But it made sense to keep it and rent it out. Nine months of living there and now both Calum and Baggy love it and feel very at home. Or at least they did until last Monday when Minty Mutt had to leave them.
Take last Wednesday, when Clever Bird concluded that Calum was right, Baggy, Furry Mama and especially Hormonal Hannah needed another dog. Furry Mama had sworn when the adorable Minty Mutt was a puppy, that she'd never have another puppy! If they had another dog, it would be the cute, handbag, fluffball that Furry Mama always wanted. It certainly wouldn't be a selection of breeds, including Border Collies who regularly attacked Minty Mutt for no apparent reason! And Baggy was put into hospital by one when it ran up a six foot fence into Baggy's garden and attacked a twelve-month old Mint - Furry Mama stepped in to save her baby and got the bite that was meant for him. Coming home on Wednesday, the adorable Collie cross puppy soon to be named Pepper.
His training classes start on Thursday evening (Clever Bird must remember to tell Baggy's sister that - she's coming to stay on Thursday!!).
It's so wrong that it's TOTALLY RIGHT................
