Creative Clara had another order from her little Etsy shop, Realuv last night. Another beautiful Egyptian Perfume Bottle is on its way to America today.
The plan for the day was to pack the order, then get Baggy to cycle into town to post it. Then Gloria Gardener would start to paint number one furry's shed.
Baggy got up and went outside to check on Derek the dove. It was cold and chucking it down with rain. Furry Mama skidded through the quagmire as she walked Minty Mutt. Clever Bird rethought Baggy's plan. Drive into town to post Clara's parcel. Come home and add more products to Realuv. While she had a quick cup of tea, Baggy checked Facebook. Her friends' cat, who went missing yesterday had still not been found. Furry Mama decided on a new plan. Drive into town to post the parcel, then go and search for Basil the cat. Baggy wandered about the locale calling "Basil" like a numpty. Looking under hedges, glancing in gardens, speaking to locals. Basil's furry mum and dad had done a good job of getting the word out. There was no sign of Basil. Baggy walked on - very slowly. She got rather disorientated, then realised she was at the care home her Step Mum had been in. She bumped into a couple of chaps and explained what she was doing.
"Ooooo, I've seen him. He was in number eleven's garden yesterday."
Furry Mama got excited.
"Is this him?" she asked, digging out the Facebook photo.
"Oh, no, it was much whiter than him".
Nearly an hour later, Baggy's back was aching and she arrived at her friends' house. She decided to see whether either of them were in and if Basil had returned. One was and Basil hadn't. Baggy needed to move the car, so she walked back into town and moved to a different car park. Then went back to her friends' and had a cuppa. Furry Mama offered to take posters to all the shops in town. This was easier said than done, as Baggy seemed to get into long conversations in nearly every shop. She asked people to check their bins and if they saw Basil to catch him. Nearly every shop put Basil's poster on the till area or in their window. Two hours later Baggy was exhausted and very depressed that she hadn't found Basil sitting in a café eating a salmon sandwich, talking to a local moggy or three.
The Domestic Goddess whipped into the supermarket to buy some healthy bits, before heading home. By then it was after 3.00pm and Baggy felt rather dizzy. Not surprising as she hadn't eaten all day. She put the kettle on and rustled up a salad as she checked Facebook. Basil was home. Yay! Great news! Now he'll need to stay indoors for a while, at least until all the posters are down, or marked "found", or he's likely to be regularly inadvertently catnapped!
Baggy realises that she's not as young as she was, when she now has no energy to do anything else today. Mind you, it's already 4.30pm. Time for another cuppa and maybe a pancake and much fussing of her own furries. Furry Mama might be worn out, but she's so pleased that the gorgeous Basil is home where he belongs.........
